Lesufi: Gwamanda wasn’t vetted for Joburg mayorship

JOHANNESBURG – Kabelo Gwamanda is not above the law, regardless of his position in society.
That’s the view of Gauteng Premier, Panyaza Lesufi.

The former Johannesburg mayor was arrested on Friday on charges of fraud.
Gwamanda allegedly conned Soweto residents through a funeral policy scam.
Lesufi says he does not believe Gwamanda went through a vetting process when he became mayor.
